Maha Chief Minister assures of strict action against Buldhana accused

Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis while speaking on the Buldhana rape incident on November 4, 2016 said that the incident will be probed under the supervision of a female IPS officer and assured that strict action will be taken against the accused.

The government has taken cognizance of the issue. Fadnavis went on to claim that the accused, school administrators and directors have been arrested. He added that they have constituted a team to probe this matter under the supervision of a female IPS officer.

Fadnavis further said that in order to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future, the government will appoint women officers that will go and talk to girls in schools and ashrans and in case of any discrepancy strict action will be taken.

Earlier today, 11 people were arrested for allegedly raping a minor in the Buldhana area of Maharashtra. It is reported that incident took place last night in a private boarding school, Ninadhi ashran School in Hivarkheda in Bhuldhana district of Maharashtra, 450 km from Mumbai.

Superintendent of Police (SP), Buldhana Sanjay Baviskar said that a case under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), POSCO Act and Juvenile Justice Act has been registered against the accused.

The accused include the President, Secretary and Joint Secretary of the school.
