Madne slams hat-trick for Bhavan’s, Ashti in opener

: The first ‘The Hitavada’ Inter-School Hockey Championship for boys got off to a blazing start with Rishabh Madne slamming a hat-trick for Bhavan’s, Ashti in their Pool A opening encounter against Royal Gondwana Public School on Monday evening. The tournament is being organised in association with Baidyanath and is conducted by Vidarbha Hockey Association at its Amravati Road lush green playfield.

Madne, a standard X student of Bhavan’s Ashti branch, scored one in the first half and added two more to his as well as to his team kitty in the second session.

Madne, playing as a striker, opened the account in the 7th minute scoring with a powerful hit from the top of the circle.
Bhavan’s boys dominated the entire first half and were all over Royal Gondwana circle. But got several chances in the first session but missed the target by a whisker.

In the second half, Madne once again hogged the limelight scoring his as well as team’s second goal in the 28th minute. Three minutes later, the lanky forward completed his hat-trick as the Bhavan’s camp erupted in joy.
Earlier, the tournament was inaugurated by former Member of Parliament and Managing Editor of ‘The Hitavada’ Banwarilal Purohit.

The inaugural function was presided over by Radheshyam Sarda, President, VHA.

On the occasion, VHA Vice-President Sardar Atal Bahadur Singh, TN Sidhra, Kishor Goydani, Shyam Sharma, Salim Baig, Javed Rana, Deven Dasture, Munna Pandey, Dada Mitra, Kunal Patil, KC Fulsunge, Sunil Madne, Dharamraj Kanojiya, students of all participating schools were present.

VHA Secretary Vinod Trivedi conducted the programme and also proposed a vote of thanks.
Rajkumar Jha and Gunanand Jha were umpires of the opening match while Abhijeet Fulsunge was reserve umpire. Sheetal Singh Thakur was the technical official.

Schedule On Tuesday: Pool A: Railway Janmandal vs Tidke Vidyalaya at 8.30 am; Pool C: St John’s vs School of Scholars at 9.30 am.
