A woman, separated from her husband few years back, was allegedly raped by him after he lured her into promise of remarrying again. The incidence took place under Gittikhadan police station between January 21 and May 26 this year.
The man has been identified as Anjar Ahmed Mukhtar Beg Mirza (39), a resident of Lashkari Vila, Jai Hind Nagar, Mankapur.
Sources said the accused who had been married to the victim for few years decided to separate and thus divorced her. However, after the divorce, the man came back to her and expressed his wish to marry her again. Anjar Ahmed later got physically involved with her, however, he later refused to marry the victim.
On the basis of the complaint lodged by the 33-year-old victim, Gittikhadan police have slapped rape charges against Ajnar Ahmed and registered offence under section 376 (b) of the IPC.
