LPG tanker crashes onto container truck near Paonar Bridge, no casualties reported

Nagpur: In a major accident, a speeding LPG tanker crashed on a container truck coming from opposite direction near Paonar Bridge on Nagpur-Wardha Road on Monday night. Fortunately, the LPG tanker did not explode in the impact otherwise the mishap would have been on disastrous scale. No loss of life was reported in the collision. Even the drivers of both the heavy vehicles escaped unhurt.

Around 9.30 pm on Monday, the LPG tanker (MH-43/BG 2408) was coming to Nagpur from Wardha. As the tanker neared the Paonar Bridge, it collided with a container truck (MH-40/AT 2568) that was coming from opposite direction. It is learnt that the LPG tanker was empty. Had it been full, the mishap would have been of fiery proportions. Drivers of both the vehicles fled the spot soon after the accident and are being searched by cops.

Vehicular traffic was disrupted due to collision but it was brought under control by a team of Sewagram police who reached the spot soon after getting information.
