Love turned Life-taking: Youth arrested with mother, sister in girl’s self-immolation case

A boy has been arrested along with his mother and sister for abetting a young girl to commit suicide on Thursday under Ambazari police station. The girl was stressed over the humiliation caused to her by the boy and his family members. She ended her life on Thursday by pouring kerosene over her and setting self on fire. Her family members rushed her to Government Medical College and Hospital for treatment but after struggling for hours, she breathed her last on the wee hours of Friday.

Police sources said the deceased has been identified as Jaishree Kailash Somkuwar (20), a resident of Seva Nagar, Pandharabodhi, near Hanuman Mandir, Ambazari. Jaishree was romantically involved with Vikas alias Vikky Dattu Nagose (23), a resident of Seva Nagar, putting up in a rented house at Shalik Arathpayre, Pandrabbodhi. However, when his mother Sunanda Dattu Nogose (42) and sister Kalpana Munna Yadav (32) came to know about this affair, they reached Jaishree’s house and blamed her for tricking Vikas into the affair. They humiliated Jaishree and hurled profanities at her. Moreover, they also threatened to kill her.

Jaishree could not bear the pain of the mental agony caused by this humiliation and eventually and decided to end her life. On the basis of her statement, Ambazari police, cops slapped charges under Sections 306, 504 and 34 of the IPC against all the three accused and arrested Vikas, Sunanda and Kalpana.
