Looting at knife-point

How desperate are some youth to get money to fulfill their bad-habits can be seen by the cases of looting which abounds these days in the city. These youth will do anything to earn money for drugs, liquor etc.

In a similar case that occurred on May 17, 2015, the victim identified as Shubham Hemant Goikar aged 19 years and a resident of the house near Kashibai Temple was present in his pan-kiosk situated in Ashok Stambh Square. At around 5:30 pm, two accused identified as Satish Manohar Gondare aged 40 years and Watan Naresh Mahto aged 19 years both residents of houses near Kashibai Temple and Shankar Leader connived and dragged him out and attacked him with fisticuffs, kicks etc and injured him. After abusing him with vulgar and abusive words, they looted Rs 550 from his cash box and fled from the spot.

On the basis of the complaint lodged by the victim, Police Sub-Inspector Shrirao of Kotwali Police Station has registered a case against the accused under sections 394 and 34 of Indian Penal Code and have succeeded in arresting the accused Satish Manohar Gondare aged 40 years and Watan Naresh Mahto.
