Nagpur: If you wanted to know where Nagpur was buying its gold this Dhanteras, you only had to follow the crowd. From early morning until late in the evening, Londe Jewellers was the place everyone was headed, and the rush simply refused to stop.
Customers were already arriving when the doors opened at 9 am, earlier than usual. Within hours, the showrooms at Sitabuldi, Gokulpeth, Manish Nagar and Nandanvan were packed from wall to wall. Every counter was full, every salesperson was busy, and families waited patiently for their turn rather than go anywhere else.
It was the same scene at all four stores. Brides choosing their wedding sets, young couples buying their first gold together, and grandparents keeping up the Dhanteras tradition, often with three generations of one family at a single counter. Gold prices have been the talk of the market all season, but on this day nobody at Londe Jewellers seemed to be talking about anything except what to take home.
“We have seen 37 Dhanteras in this city, and a day like today stays with you,” said Yash Londe, Director, Londe Jewellers. “Every store was full from morning to night. Our teams did not stop for a moment, and families kept coming. When Nagpur shows this kind of love, all you can do is say thank you.”
For many in the market, the day settled one question: Nagpur knows where it wants to buy its gold. Founded in the city in 1989, Londe Jewellers has served over 5 lakh families, is known for its BIS Hallmark certified gold, and now plans to expand across Vidarbha. And with Diwali still ahead, the crowds show no sign of thinning.
