Mayor Pravin Datke on Monday led the city of Nagpur in paying tributes to Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak on hid death anniversary today. Born as Keshav Gangadhar Tilak, he is remembered as “Father of the Indian unrest” against the British colonial rule, social reformer and above all an outstanding teacher.

The Mayor garlanded the statue of Tilak near Gandhisagar Lake and paid his homage. Other dignitaries present on the occasion include Chairman of Standing Committee Sudhir Raut, Leader of Opposition in NMC Vikas Thakre, former Mayor Archana Dehankar, Chairperson of Women and Children Welfare Committee Rashmi Fadnavis, Gandhibagh Zone Chairperson Vidya Kanhere, Corporators Prabha Jagnade, Prashant Dhavad, Tanvir Ahmed, former Corporators Pramod Pendke, Nana Zode, Kishore Jichkar, Manoj Sable, Kishore Kanhere, Mukund Mule, Vilas Trivedi, Shrikant Aglave, Bhojraj Dumbe, Rambhau Ambulkar and Bholanath Sahare.
