Nagpur: The second capital of the state lagged behind all its neighboring constituencies in Vidarbha in terms of voter turnout in the Lok Sabha elections on Friday. By 5 PM, Nagpur reported 47.91% voting, followed by Ramtek with 52.38%.
Gadchiroli-Chimur is showing strong voter turnout, with 64.95% of voters exercising their franchise. In Bhandara-Gondia, 56.87% of eligible voters cast their votes, while Chandrapur witnessed 55.11% voting.
It appears that the heat dampened the voters’ enthusiasm in the second capital of the state, as Nagpur recorded the lowest turnout among other Vidarbha districts by 5 PM.
With some relief from the heat in the evening, voting is expected to pick up in Nagpur and Ramtek.
