Nagpur Today: In a press meet organized by Aam Admi Party at their regional Headquarters in Nagpur on March 19, 2014, where they wanted to made allegations against BJP and Congress party for acquiring innocent farmer’s land, not paying adequate compensations, not caring and redressing their grievances etc.
However, the media personnel made it very clear that all these allegations especially of the Retox Company, is old news and that the people are already aware of all these facts. However the media personnel wanted to know about the statements made by AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal during his visit to Nagpur about former chief of BJP Nitin Gadkari and Congress leader MP Vilasrao Muttemwar being partners and having committed many scams.
The local leaders of AAP denied that AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal ever said such a statement. When the media personnel said that they have video and audio clippings of his statement, they added that they too have the recorded speech and that AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal never made such a statement.
In a Press meet Anjali Damania was not present and local leaders headed by AAP candidate for Lok Sabha polls from Ramteke took the volly of questions from media.
Pratap Goswami, Girish Nandgaonkar, Pradhyumna Shahastrabhojini, Atul Upadyaya and AAP PRO (Nagpur) Prajakta Atul were also present in the press meet
Another clarification requested by the media was that of the statement made by Anjali Damania in a print media saying that a person from RSS had approached her asking her not to fight Lok Sabha elections against former BJP chief Nitin Gadkari. To this the local leaders of AAP said that they were not aware of this at all. When the media wanted to know, isn’t Damania a member of AAP, then they simply said that only she will be able to answer that question. The media was prompt to point out that she never answers or receives any phone call.
The media made it more than clear that they are not available at the beck and call to listen to allegations against other leaders without any concrete evidence. If they have proof only then are they supposed to call for a press meet.
The local AAP Leaders in their defence said that “Just to reiterate what Arvind Kejriwal said: “Maine Suna Hai Ki Koi International Hub Ban Raha Hai. Mainey Suna Hai Ki Rotex Company hai , Kiski Company Hai, Aur Mainey Suna Hai ki Gadkari aur Muttemwar dono milkar uske andar Gotala Kar Rahey Hain…”
(Arvind Kejriwal said that he has heard that Gadkari and Muttemwar are both involved in a scam realted to ROTEXT and MIHAN). The whole state is aware that this project was floated jointly by Muttemwar, Gadkari and Praful Patel. They marketed the project not just to Nagpur, but to the whole of Vidarbha. What was Mr. Gadkari’s interest in the project? Why did he aggressively market the project? Why did the opposition party not fight for the farmers who were dispossessed of their lands for a project but never utilized. Ideally it should have been returned to the farmers. What became of the project? What became of the land?
We do not expect any honest answers from these corrupt politicians who have jointly looted Vidarbha for decades. We also know that current system will never be able to check them. Therefore we appeal to the voters to give them a fitting punishment in the forthcoming elections by using the power of the ballot.
