LIDCOM taking various initiatives for leather industry

Nagpur: Efforts will be made through Sant Rohidas Charmodyog Mahamandal to get the leather industry a place in the international market. An action plan has been prepared for this and efforts are being made to establish an agreement with the Leather Export Council. It is hoped that the youth of the leather community will get a rightful place in the stream of development in the future. An action plan was prepared in association with Sant Rohidas Charmodyog Va Charmakar Vikas Mahamandal and LIDCOM with the aim of uplifting the standard of living of the youth of the Scheduled Caste tanner community. Attempts are being made to boost the leather industry by signing an agreement with the Leather Export Council. For this, LIDCOM and the Corporation’s Managing Director Dhammajyoti Gajbhiye have initiated this effort and a plan has been prepared in this concern.

There are many schemes of social justice department of state government. Charmakar Arthik Vikas Mahamandal is working to bring every section of the Charmakar community into the stream of justice and development. The organisation which has been operating for the past several years, has tried to do justice to the society. Many changes were made after Dhammajyoti Gajbhiye joined as Administrative Director. Various schemes have been accelerated to provide employment to the youth of the society.

The daily problems of the leather workers, including the gang workers who sew shoes under umbrellas in the square, should be solved, their living conditions should be improved, they should be able to live with self-effort and self-respect. Sant Rohidas Charmodyog Va Charmakar Vikas Mahamandal was established for the purpose of making the future of the next generation of this society self-reliant and bright. It has now been joined by LIDCOM. Under the board, 50 percent subsidy scheme, seed capital scheme training, group stall scheme are implemented through nationalised banks at the local level. Apart from this, a plan has recently been prepared to implement financial assistance schemes by the National Scheduled Castes Finance and Development Board for education in the country and abroad as well as for self-employment. Through LIDCOM, 25 thousand youths will be given leather industry training in the state in the coming period. A new proposal to supply leather goods to the police department was also made to boost this industry. From the recruitment of employees in the corporation, the problems of employees will be solved.

A plan has been prepared for the boys and girls of Charmakar community from education and training to making entrepreneurs. Various clusters will be created by encouraging leather artisans. Through that, the leather industry will be encouraged at the local level. The aim of the government and the corporation is to bring every element of the leather community in the state into the stream of development.
