Nagpur: A dramatic incident on Wednesday morning in the Bhandewadi area left Nagpur residents in shock. News of a leopard entering a flat on the second floor of a residential building spread like wildfire, creating an atmosphere of fear in the locality and drawing large crowds of onlookers. However, no concrete evidence has yet emerged about how this wild animal entered the city or managed to reach such a high floor.
According to local residents, the leopard was first spotted in the building compound. Residents immediately contacted the Help for Animal Welfare Association, Nagpur. Upon reaching the scene, the team confirmed the leopard’s presence and promptly notified District Wildlife Conservation Officer Ajinkya Bhatkar as well as the TTC Center.
This unexpected incident has raised serious questions about the increasing movement of wild animals at Nagpur’s urban boundaries. Rescue operations have been urgently initiated to ensure the safety of both residents and the leopard. Meanwhile, the Forest Department is investigating how exactly the leopard entered the city. Further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
