Though the dealers were registered in LBT, and made LBT payment of Rs. 12,000/- only, in spite of huge stock of good available in its 5 storey building. The dealer have not maintained any records including purchase register which is mandatory as per LBT rule 19.
There was no sale receipt book as required in LBT Rule 22 .The sock of inventory is being taken and accordingly LBT payment liability will be fixed as per rules. It is seen that dealers are not making payment of LBT on all their purchases and selling goods without any sale receipts.
All local dealers making purchases from wholesalers should ensure to get the purchase invoices with LBT numbers printed thereon, otherwise the liability of payment will be attracted on the purchasers as per rule 20 of LBT.
It is also seen that many dealers are bringing the goods in fictitious names and not disclosing such purchases, which would attract 2 times penalty in addition to LBT liable, as per Rule 48(2)
