LAD girls ignite the spark of their talents at the Annual Events!

Nestled amidst lush bushes and vast greeneries rests Lady Amritbai Daga College for Women, a pioneer in the field of Education. It offers a plethora of courses right from something as conventional as BA and BCom to a non-conventional courses like the Hotel Management & Catering Technology and Interior Designing. The college has produced university toppers in various departments since its establishment.

As a part of students’ development, and the curriculum, various activities are organized by students themselves every year! Two of the most prominent activities organized are the Annual Food Fest by the Hotel Management and the Catering Technology Department, and the exhibition of products made by students of the department of Interior Design!

Team LAD!

This year, the beautiful exhibition by the department of Interior Design got inaugurated at the hands of well known Interior Designer of town, Amita Behal. The function was précised over by Dr Shyamla Nair, Principal, LAD College and Harsha Jharia, Vice Principal, LAD College, Seminary Hills.

The products on display were artifacts made from MDF, Terracota, Paper, Wrought iron, etc, that got encouraged by one and all.

On the other hand, the lipsmacking Punjabi Food was prepared by the students of department of Hotel Management and the Catering Technology for the Punjabi food fest ‘Zaika Punjab Da’. It was a colourful procession that included a great food fiesta coursing the cuisine of Punjab, accompanied by entertaining music. Flavours of Punjab was presented to the elite guests at the fest.

The fest was headed by GM Sapna Sangode, Food Production Manager Renu Nivesh, the Kitchen Team Rajshree Ranekar, Priyanka Desai, Housekeeping Manager Shweta Vartak, Finance Manager Shreevidya Vardhan, Décor Manager Madhulika arma, Anuja Bhasme, Food & Beverage Manager- Surbhi Biniwwale, Sales & Publicity Manager Milli Keshwani. The event was carried out under the able guidance of HOD Dr Jyotsna Patil, Ameeta Jharia, Charuta Gajbhiye, Dr Nandita Sapra, Vishakha Shahane and Uday Naseri.

The students seemed grateful to the management and the Principle Dr Shyamla Nair for giving them the opportunity to organize such an event.

The exhibition and the workshop for of the Interior Designing Course showcased the creative talent of the students with inspiration and encouragement from the faculty headed by Dr Pooja Pathak. The exhibition proved to be a biannual activity which was theme based. This year it was Christmas on the London Street!

Staff members Ar Vatsala Shrinias, Er Rijuta Bapat, Ar Sumeeta Sapre and Ar Surashmie Kaahmegh worked hard for its success along with students of the department. The exhibition was appreciated by all and was a huge success.
