Nagpur: Industrial visit is one of the input components of the curriculum at Laxminarayan Institute of Technology, a conducted Institute of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur. LIT imparts the education in Chemical Engineering & Technology.
The Industrial Visit substantiates the theoretical knowledge students used to get in regular theory classes in the Institute. 65 students of 3rd year B.Tech. Chemical Engineering visited Purti Power and Sugar Limited, Bela, Nagpur on Saturday, 25th July 2015.
Purti Group today is one of the fastest growing professionally owned enterprises in this region . The prime objective of the visit was to acquaint students with the working of sugar industry, power plant and distillery. The management of the Industry has provided three persons to explain the working of various units in the plant.
Students interacted with them,where they came across the various functionalities of operations, and also experienced the production processes of sugar, ethanol and power generation in detail.
The students were guided and motivated by Dr. R.B. Mankar, The Director LIT, Dr. R. P. Ugwekar Head, Department of Chemical Engineering, Dr. B. A. Bhanvase and Mr. R. P. Birmod. The visit was coordinated by student coordinators Ajitsingh Patil and team.
