Nagpur:
In a major move to provide relief to people, the District Collector Sachin Kurve on Monday said that the ferfar (mutation) of properties will be initiated the moment applications are registered with Sub Registrar’s office. “There will be no need for people to make rounds and rounds of City Survey Office or Land Record Office for the Ferfar process. If documents submitted are not in order, the applicants will be conveyed about it through SMSes,” Kurve said.

“Once the applications are registered, the for mutation process will get off to a start immediately. Applicants will have to give their mobile numbers with the applications. The status of applications will be conveyed through SMS. Later, mutation paper will be allotted once the Ferfar process is completed,” Kurve said.

Every effort will be made for smooth functioning of the new system. The department has made it mandatory to submit details of applications and status with the collector’s office every month. The collector will review the issue and take necessary steps.

Besides this, initiative will also be taken to also bring city survey department under Right to Services Act, he said.
