Nagpur: The 10th edition of the Khasdar Sanskrutik Mahotsav promises to be a grand cultural extravaganza for Nagpurians, offering not only a feast of entertainment but also a platform to promote traditional values and enrich social harmony. This year, the much-awaited cultural festival will be held from November 7 to 18 at the Ishwar Deshmukh College of Physical Education (IDCPE), Krida Chowk, Hanuman Nagar, Nagpur.
Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari unveiled the details about the festival during a press conference held at Hotel Centre Point, Ramdaspeth, on Friday. Renowned national and international artists, along with talented local performers, will showcase their artistry. Conceptualised by Gadkari, the festival, which began in 2017, marks its digital imprint this year with passes will be available on its website free soon.
Renowned artists like Shreya Ghoshal, Shankar Mahadevan, Vishal Bharadwaj, Rekha Bharadwaj, Vishal Mishra, Akhil Sachdeva, Ashutosh Rana, Manjunath Mahadevappa, Sai Tamhankar, Prajakta Mali etc. will perform during the 12-day event. The inauguration of the festival will be held on November 7 at 6.30 pm. Swami Govindadev Giriji Maharaj, Treasurer, Shriram Janmabhoomi Tirthakshetra Trust, Ayodhya will be the chief guest of the inauguration function.
Padma Shri Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi will be the guest of honour of the programme. Ashutosh Rana will also remain present as guest during the opening ceremony. A musical programme named ‘Rashtrasantachi Jivanagatha’ based on Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj will be performed by 2,000 artists at a time. ‘Jagar Bhakticha’ a Geeta Pathan programme will be held daily from 7 am to 8.30 am in which more than 50,000 students will participate in that event.
Citizens can scan the QR Code to get free passes for the event and it will be available in the website www.khasdarmahotsav.com soon. The press conference was attended by Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Gaurishankar Parashar, Bhushan Upadhyay, Jaiprakash Gupta, Adv Surekha Kumbhare, Prof Anil Sole, Charansingh Thakur, Ashok Mankar, Krishna Khopde, Dayashankar Tiwari, Pravin Datke, Vikas Kumbhare and others.
