Khasdar Sanskrutik Mahotsav concludes with heart-throbbing Mohit Chauhan’s live-in concert

Nagpur: ‘Sadda Haq’, the rock anthem of the modern generation, moved the fans to the railings with their arms waving in the night sky. The crowd swayed and sang along with Mohit Chauhan, the popular musician-singer-composer. The grand sixth edition of Khasdar Sanskrutik Mahotsav concluded on Sunday with Mohit Chauhan’s live-in concert at Ishwar Deshmukh College of Physical Education.

Songs like ‘Masakkali’ from the movie ‘Delhi 6’, ‘Naadan Parindey’and‘Sadda Haq’from ‘Rockstar’ won over the audience. The ground was jampacked with fans, dancing their hearts out. Chauhan started the show with a rendition of the song ‘Jo Bhi Main Kehna Chahoon’, and followed up with ‘Yeh Duriya’, ‘Abhi Kuch Dino Se’ from the movie ‘Dil Toh Bachcha HaiJi’. On public demand, he sang ‘Dooba Dooba’ song by Silk Route on acoustic guitar. Chauhan’s concert made Sunday evening memorable.

Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways; Chandrasekhar Bawankule, BJP State President; Adv Ashish Jaiswal and Pravin Datke, legislators; Prashant Rahate, celebrity chef Vishnu Manohar, Dr Sanjay Ugemuge; Dr Vikas Mahatme, former MP; Dr Sanjay Dudhe, Pro Vice Chancellor of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University; Dinesh Suryavanshi, were prominently present at the event.

Every day, around 400 artists performed songs in ‘Jaagar Rashtrabhakticha’. Shyam Deshpande, Yamini Paighan, Vaishali Upadhyay, Abhijit Borikar, Anjusha Pandavkar, Madhavi Palasokar, Anupama Bhojraj,Bhagyashree Baraskar, Prasanna Joshi, Amar Kulkarni, Anjali Nisal, Radha Thengadi, Preeti Mahajan, Sugandha Deshpande,Prashant Upgade, Radha Atkari, Rajendra Pund, Harshal Kawre, Alim Bhai, Sandeep Baraskar, Vishal Yadav, Shantanu Vyakar, Sunny Jaiswal, Suresh Patil werefelicitated at the hands of Gadkari.

‘Shivshahichi Rangdhumali’, the ‘Dhol Tasha Pathak’, delivered one of the most elegant and energetic performances. All artists wearing saffron coloured clothes, the throbbing sound of the drums, were a feeling shared by millions presentthere. A team of 150 was led by Parag Bagde, Amit Pandey, and Jai Askar. The team of Sanskar Bharti, led by renowned singer Amar Kulkarni, performed inspiring patriotic songs. Smita Khangai compered the programme.

Addressing the audience, Gadkari thanked them for their constant support. Around 74 different programmes were organised over six years, featuring around 9,500 artists. Around 5,000 artists performed this year, he added. Khasdar Krida Mohatsav and a fest for the senior citizens is going to be organised soon, he announced.

The Khasdar Sanskrutik Mahotsav Committee including Prof Anil Sole, President; veteran poet Madhup Pandey, Dr Gaurishankar Parashar, Dilip Jadhav, Vice-Presidents; Jayprakash Gupta, Secretary; Rajesh Bagdi, Treasurer; and other members Bal Kulkarni, Sarang Gadkari, Abdul Kadir, Renuka Deshkar, Avinash Ghushe, Ashish Wandile, Chetan Kayarkar, Sanjay Gulkari, Sandeep Gawai, Bholanath Sahare, Nitin Telgote, Kishore Patil, VilasTrivedi,and Manisha Kashikar worked hard for success of the event.
