Khapri will be best resettlement area in Maharashtra: Bawankule

Nagpur: The State BJP President and MLC Chandrasekhar Bawankule on Friday claimed that the rehabilitation area of Khapri village acquired for MIHAN project will be the best in Maharashtra. He also informed that the proposal to reduce the plot price by 12.5 percent is under the consideration of the State Government and efforts are being made for a positive decision on it.

Bawankule performed bhoomipujan of various development works with a fund of Rs.33 crore in Khapri rehabilitation area. He was speaking on the occasion. Kamptee MLA Tekchand Savarkar, Khapri Sarpanch Rekha Sontakke, MIHAN Chief Engineer S K Chatterjee and Vikas Patil, land acquisition consultant in the district administration were mainly present.

He further said that Rs 52.69 crore land assets have been awarded to 497 home owners of native villages in Khapri Rehabilitation package, out of which 467 people have been given compensation. Bawankule also said that the measurement and assessment of 298 houses outside the village will be completed within a month.

“23 applications from the pending list of houses in Kalkuhi, Telhar, Dahegaon, and Khapri have been disposed of and remaining 10 applications will be disposed of soon. MIHAN’s policy is to provide a subsidy of Rs 5.00 lakh to the local people, project affected for employment or in lieu of employment. Out of them 447 persons availed the subsidy,” Bawankule said, adding in the last 6 months, Rs. 194 crore have been received from the Government in the court case.

Bawankule said that Rehabilitation DPR of 890 plots in 28 hectare area at Khapri Railway is ready. He also said that internal roads, sewers, water supply, sewage disposal and electrification work have started and everyone should contribute to make this rehabilitation the best in the State.

The program was attended by ZP Member Megha Mankar, Panchayat Samiti member Sunita Buchunde, Deputy Sarpanch Pramod Dehankar, ex. ZP Members Ruprao Shingane, former Sarpanch Keshav Sontakke, Sunil Kodhe, Arun Mahakalkar, Shekhar Upre, Ganesh Barai, Vinod Thakre, Sachin Mhaske, Rasika Dubdube, Savita Masram, Priyamakha Thul, Rasika Chaple, Pratibha Rokde, Shalini Bhuse, Rameshwar Kurjekar, R.P. Khodkumbhe, Deepak Joshi along with Gram Panchayat members and administration officials.
