Job-seeking youth duped of Rs 2.10 lakh

A con man from Gondia cheated a job-seeking youth of city to the tune of Rs 2.10 lakh on the pretext of providing him a job in Railways. The accused has been booked.

The complainant, Kartik Ashtikar, resident of Prathamesh Tower, Jawahar Nagar Society, Besa Road, told Hudkeshwar police that the accused Amit Shanja, native of Gondia, promised him a job in Railways. On this pretext, the accused Shanja took Rs 2.10 lakh from Kartik over a period December 6, 2015 to February 8, 2017.

However, despite giving the money, Kartik was neither provided a job in Railways by the accused Amit Shanja nor his money returned. On realization that he has been taken for a ride, Kartik registered a case against the accused with Hudkeshwar Police Station.

Cops have booked the accused Amit Shanja under relevant Sections of IPC. Further probe is underway.
