Nagpur News : A Delhi based youth led organization THE EDUCATION TREE which works on social fronts came up with the initiative to promote women’s safety with the event named as “JO MERA HAI WO MERA HAI-My body My rights” . The organization has been visiting different cities spreading awareness of women’s safety.
A ‘ Freeze Mob’ was organized by them at the Nagpur railway station recently. About 30 volunteers from Nagpur’s school and colleges participated in this initiative. They were holding posters on station and taking a freeze in order for aware people regarding women’s safety. The event got good response from the people as they stopped by and read the posters.
Speaking with Nagpur Today , Regional head of the organisation, Diksha Pilania, who is doing her graduation from National Institute of Fashion Design (NIFD) Delhi, initiated this event in Nagpur. She informed that on What’s App she had contacted with the volunteers in Nagpur. And all of them readily agreed to contribute.
She further added that “ It was immense pleasure to contribute to this social cause. I hope this initiative would change the mindset of the people towards women.”
