After Hrs was the first to tell you that Jacqueline Fernandez had signed a woman-centric film for which she was in talks with Sujoy Ghosh. It was eventually announced that it was Ribhu Dasgupta’s Hindi adaptation of The Girl On The Train, in which the actress would play the lead role. But since then, there has been no progress on the film.

A source tells us, “The makers wanted to finalise the script and approach other actors for different roles in the thriller. But none of this has happened so far. All that we know is Jacqueline is on board.”

Another khabri reveals that the film has now hit a major roadblock. “The makers haven’t been able to find any financiers who are willing to invest in the movie, which is why it’s stuck. There’s no clarity on whether this film has been put on hold or has been shelved. But as of now, it’s definitely not happening.” We contacted Ribhu, but the filmmaker remained unavailable for comment till the time of going to press.
