The event was held at the same well that was inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi to eradicate the practice of untouchability. The well is situated at Barasignal, Borkar Nagar, Ghat Road in city.

The Indian Youth Congress has in the past several times submitted memorandums to Mayor and District Collector demanding heritage status to the well. However, forget the heritage status, the slumbering administration did not make any efforts to clean the well and its surroundings on the occasion of Gandhi’s death anniversary.
