A crucial meeting of BJP Parliamentary Board, held on Saturday, gave its seal of approval on the name of Datke, at present the Leader of Ruling Party in Nagpur Municipal Corporation. It was a clever move by the party to push Datke’s name as the First Citizen of Nagpur keeoing in mind the forthcoming Assembly elections. The leader is resident of Central Nagpur and the constituency is crucially vital in the scheme of things.
The factors that propelled Datke’s name to the coveted post hinge on his youthfulness, well educated, able administrator, clean image, an energetic Corporator and above all a man of Backward Class community. He will succeed Anil Sole whose tenure is ending on September 5.
Talking about the vacant post of Leader of Ruling Party, BJP is likely put the responsibility on the shoulders of either Sandeep Joshi or Sudhakar Kohale.
Interestingly, Datke, Joshi and Kohale were aspiring for Assembly poll ticket from any of the constituencies in Nagpur.
