Nagpur: Situation in Indora Square area in the city turned hostile when a group of Bhimsena workers strongly protested murders of a  particular caste family in Ahmednagar and resorted to “Rasta Roko” (Road blockade) agitation on Wednesday (October 29). Looking to the volcanic posture of agitators, police maintained a tight security and kept a close vigil on the activities.

The protesters claimed that the murders were an outcome of anti-caste mentality prevailing in the society. They further claimed that the Government, instead of curbing such gruesome incidents, is encouraging the anti-caste people and this encouragement which is leading to a spurt. “Police too play the role of silent spectators and try to weaken such cases. This is the reason the  family was done to death. We demand strictest punishment to perpetrators of such ghastly crime,” said the protesters.
