India’s Omicron count increases to 653

India’s Omicron case tally jumped to 653 on Tuesday, while 186 of these patients have been recovered or discharged.

Maharashtra has reported the highest number of 167 cases so far, followed by Delhi (165) and Kerala (57).

Other states that have reported Omicron cases are: Telangana 55, Gujarat 49, Rajasthan 46, Tamil Nadu 34, and Karnataka 31.

Madhya Pradesh has reported nine cases, Odisha eight, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal six each, Haryana and Uttarakhand four each, Chandigarh and Jammu and Kashmir three each and Uttar Pradesh has reported two Omicron cases.

Goa, Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh and Manipur have reported one Omicron case each.

Meanwhile, India reported 6,358 new COVID-19 cases and 6,450 recoveries in the last 24 hours.

Active caseload currently stands at 75,456. Recovery Rate currently at 98.40 per cent.
