Indian Overseas Bank puts the step forward for empowering women, opens all-women branch

The Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) put a step forward in empowering women by opening the first an all-women Bank Branch on Hingna Road on Saturday (September 7).

The Bank Branch was inaugurated by Dr. Pallavi Dorode (IRS),  Additional Commissioner, Tribal Welfare Department. A. Diwakara Rao (National Banking General Manager, JOB, Mumbai), Aswin K J (Chief Regional Manager, Nagpur) graced the occasion. This is the first all-women branch of IOB in the city and 14th in the country.

As the name suggests, this branch will be managed by women staff members. The basic purpose of such initiative is to encourage more women to transact with the bank and able to access banking with ease in a comfortable environment. Apart from regular banking functions, the branch would act as a centre for development for women offering facilities such as credit related counselling, guidance and information about various schemes for women.

On the same day, Bank has also inaugurated the MSME Processing Center.  The MSME Processing Center is another good initiative for easy and quick processing of MSME proposals. This processing center will cater to the credit needs of New/ Existing MSME Units of Vidharbha/ Marathwada region.

Indian Overseas Bank has started a new initiative to serve different strata of society by opening an All- Women Branch  and MSME Processing Centers.
