India's Ashwin celebrates with his teammates after taking the catch to dismiss Sri Lanka's Thirimanne during the final day of their third and final test cricket match in Colombo
Colombo: The match updates of fifth day of the third test match between India and Sri Lanka played in Colombo.

India is in the drivers seat, and just need 4 more wickets to win to seal the series. If India manage to get Sri Lanka all out,  in first time in 22 years they will be winning a series there.

This pitch has been unlike typical Sri Lankan tracks and fast bowlers have reaped rich benefits of the greenish tinge. Ishant Sharma has been the pick of the bowlers for India so far in this test match and lot will depend on him to get the remaining wickets. Kohli will be hoping that spinners to manage to extract some purchase from the fifth day pitch.

On Monday, Indian middle and lower order played admirably to stretch the lead upto 385 runs. Rohit Sharma, Mishra, Binny, Ashwin all came to the party to add to Lankan woes. Perera and Dhammika Prasad managed to bowl well for the Islanders but the spinners were nothing short of ordinary. There was some animosity when Dhammika and Ishant had a run-in. Expect lot of chatter today as Indian team strive to create history in Sri Lankan soil.
