Nagpur:
One more case of dowry torture among intermittently occurring incidents of similar nature has come to fore under the jurisdiction of Jaripatka police station. The police have registered a case against Mulchandani family. According to police, complainant Dipika Navin Mulchandani, 26, originally resident of Ulhas Nagar, Thane district, was married to Navin Girdharilal Mulchandani, 30, resident of Nagarjun Colony, Jaripatka in year 2008. Since her marriage Dipika had been living with her husband and in-laws. During December 2008 to 2015, Navin, Girdharilal, Poonam, Balraj and Namrata Mulchandani jointly started torturing Dipika mentally and physically for not providing them money from her parents for setting a business at Ulhas Nagar. The Mulchandanis even picked up quarrels with her father for not providing money for treatment of her illness, and she was regularly assaulted everyday. Not only this, the in-laws took away all her ornaments and drove her out of house. She then approached the Jaripatka police station and filed complaint against the in-laws. The police have registered cases under sections 498 (A), 406 and 34 IPC against the guilty in-laws.
