In a first in country, Rizwan Ahmed gets PhD on Mobile Forensics

In a first in the country, Rizwan Ahmed has been awarded first PhD in the field of Mobile Forensics and Security from the discipline of Computer Science and Engineering under faculty of Engineering and Technology from Nagpur University. His topic of research was “Analysis and Design of Efficient Generalized Forensics Framework for Mobile Devices”.

Rizwan is one of the first research scholars in India to have received PhD degree in the area of mobile forensics and cyber security related to mobile devices. His research work has significant impact on uncovering digital evidence from mobile devices which are used during crimes. His research involved development of the Efficient Generalized Forensics Framework for Mobile Devices (EGFFMD) for more in depth examination of Android, iOS, BlackBerry, Symbian and Windows mobile OS based mobile devices for collecting and reporting of digital evidence. With the increasing prevalence of mobile phones in peoples’ daily lives and in crime, data acquired from mobile phones become an invaluable source of evidence for investigations relating to criminal, civil, and even high-profile cases.

Rizwan Ahmed has been working as “Independent Consultant and Digital Forensic Investigator” for various Private, Government, and Law Enforcement Agencies in India and abroad for solving cybercrime cases. He has also conducted multiple workshops on mobile based crimes for Police and other Law Enforcement Departments. Mr. Rizwan has published over 50 technical papers in International/National Journals, Conferences in the field of Mobile Forensics, Digital Forensics, Network Security, e-Learning and M-Learning, Genetic Algorithms and Genetic Programming, and Software Engineering & Project Management. His research work is listed in “Top 3%” on Academia.edu from past few years and has been cited by other researchers in the field of mobile forensics throughout the world.

He is recipient of multiple Best Research Paper Awards. He has been invited as Speaker as Cyber and Mobile Security expert at many National and International Conferences, Events and Panel Discussions in India and abroad. Rizwan has been awarded “IT Technology Hero” award by Microsoft in year 2008 from over 900 technologists, and more than 10,000 developers, IT Professionals worldwide. He has been included in “Marquis Who’s Who in the World® 2016” considering his contributions and achievements so far. He has given credit of his success to his guide Dr. Rajiv Dharaskar, his mentors, family and friends.
