Impostor tries to cheat Powergrid Corporation, arrested

Nagpur: An impostor, who tried to appear for an exam conducted by Powergrid Corporation of India Ltd on behalf of a candidate, has reportedly been arrested by MIDC police on Friday. The candidate has also been taken into custody.

The Powergrid Corporation of India Ltd on Friday conducted exam for the post of Diploma Training at 11 am at iON Digital Zone iDZ 3, Hingna Road. The accused Suman Kumar Karti (22), native of Ward No. 2, near Middle School, Khareh, Tehsil Kureh, Bihar, went to the exam centre and tried to appear for the exam on behalf of accused candidate Hariom Laxmansingh Meena, native of Karoli, Rajasthan.

However, the cheating came to know to the Supervisor of the exam centre Rammohan Laxmanrao Darbe (54), resident of Zenda Chowk, Dharampeth. He registered a case with MIDC police in this connection.

MIDC ASI Dadaram, based on the complaint, booked the accused impostor Suman Kumar Karti and the candidate Hariom Meena under Sections 419, 511, 34 of the IPC read with Section 7 of Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act. Both the accused have reportedly been taken into custody.
