IMA new team’s installation ceremony held, Gadkari assures help to city hosps

Nagpur: The registration of hospitals with municipal corporation is mandatory. But not even ten per cent hospitals are registered due to strict rules and conditions. Hospitals are being run on the basis of temporary registration due to which these hospitals are facing lot of problems, giving rise to many complaints. To solve this problem, a joint meeting of office-bearers of IMA and Nagpur Municipal Corporation will be called soon, assured Union minister for surface transport and shipping Nitin Gadkari here.

The installation programme of Indian Medical Association, Nagpur branch was held at IMA”s hall, North Ambazari Road, on Sunday evening. He was speaking as chief guest on the occasion. Urban development minister Dr Ranjit Patil, president of Maharashtra IMA Dr T C Rathod, Dr Krishna Parate, IMA, Nagpur”s newly elected president Dr Ajay Kate, secretary Dr Sarita Ugemuge, outgoing president Dr Sanjay Deshpande and Kush Jhunjhunwala were present on the occasion.

ima-new-installationGadkari said, “Doctors should keep in mind that medical profession is a noble profession. Minimum fee should be charged from poor patients and rich patients should be charged required charges. Doctors should be ready to in rural areas also. It is not possible to give grants to government hospitals. So there is need of charitable hospitals in society. All pathies in medical field are good. But some ayurvedic and homeopathy doctors are turning to allopathy practice due to lack of confidence which is wrong. These doctors should do newer research in their own respective pathies.”

On the occasion, Gadkari also gave responsibility of all office bearers in newly appointed executive committee.”

Dr Ranjit Patil said that doctors need to perform their primary duty for betterment of society and remember that they are also a section of society.

Dr Kate said that in coming year, two big projects will be completed. “These projects include construction of huge and state of the art auditorium and “paperless” office. Similarly, stress will be given on creation of awareness on anemia, deficiency of vitamin “D”, cancer and save girl child campaign.

Dr Deshpande also expressed his views and gave best wished to newly elected office bearers.
