ICAI Nagpur Felicitates Finance Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar

unnamed (20)Nagpur:  Nagpur Branch of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India led by Chairman CA. Ashwini Agrawal and CA. Julfesh Shah, Vice Chairman, WIRC met and felicitated Sudhir Munguntiwar, Hon. Minister of Finance,

Government of Maharashtra at Nagpur.

CA. Ashwini Agrawal, Chairman, Nagpur Branch of ICAI informed him about various problems being faced by trade and industry as well general assessee and professionals. He briefed him about the issues in LBT being faced by trade and industry. He also informed him about various issues under VAT which are pending since long and requested him to issue clarification on these matters. He assured him of all positive contribution of Chartered Accountant fraternity in implementing the revenue policies of government by acting as a facilitator between the revenue and assessees. He also informed him about the activities of the branch and said that Nagpur Branch is catering to around 2000 members and more than 12000 students and has been awarded as the best branch at all India level on number of occasions.

CA. Julfesh Shah, Vice Chairman, WIRC, said that in view of the integrated process of globalization, business environment has undergone complete metamorphosis. Considering these Chartered Accountants can play an important role in advising the government on various issues and preparing a finance model for the entire state to come out of the heavy debt burden. He also briefed Hon. Finance Minister about various bottlenecks in Industrial Policy and subsidy schemes of Government of Maharashtra introduced to promote Industrial growth in backward region of the state. He further requested him to constitute a group of expert professionals to identify and suggest remedies to remove these bottlenecks so that the desired objective of the policy can be achieved and offered all the cooperation of Western India Regional Council of ICAI. He further informed him that ICAI though its various regional councils, branches & study chapters is committed to impart value based knowledge & update the members about the development taking place on varied subjects. He informed him about various initiatives taken by Regional Council for the betterment of the member and students at large.

Finance Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar appreciated the activities carried out by ICAI and its branches. He said that Chartered Accountants are the worthy trustee and ambassador of revenue policies of Government. He asked the delegation to submit a detailed presentation and assured to take all the possible steps to resolve the matters.
