Nagpur News: Nagpur Branch of ICAI delegation led by Chairman CA. Swapnil Agrawal & RCM CA Julfesh Shah welcomed newly appointed Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, R K Guptaji on his maiden day after taking charge as CCIT. While interacting with Guptaji, Chairman informed that there are around 2000 CAs and around 12000 CA students at Nagpur. Nagpur is the biggest Education hub for CA students in Central India. Apart from Vidarbha, Nagpur also caters to the educational needs of near parts of MP like Chhindwara, Seoni, Balaghat and Chhattisgarh State covering Raipur, Bilaspur, Durg, etc. He updated him over the practice scenario at Nagpur and said that most of the practicing CAs are of small and medium size practitioners having client base mostly of trading and small manufacturing units. Nagpur has better business of Real Estate, Cotton Produce, Orange Produce, etc., which forms MSME cluster, he further added. He also invited CCIT for the interactive meet with the members.

CA. Julfesh Shah, RCM updated Hon CCIT about the activities conducted by regional council and informed him on the developments of practice scenario at WIRC level. He abreast him on the issues faced by assessees of Vidarbha and requested for finding suitable solutions and sorting the issues. He particularly laid stressed on the system related problems faced by various classes of assessees which needs to be addressed on priority basis.

Responding to the interaction R K Guptaji said that he is very much impressed by the activities conducted by Nagpur Branch for the benefits of members and public at large. He sought active co-operation of all the Chartered Accountants in making aware about various assessees friendly initiatives of Income Tax Department. Suggestions are always welcomed and necessary remedial steps will be taken, he assured.

During the interaction A K vastava outgoing CCIT, who has been transferred to Mumbai, also discussed the pending issues and said that there is always a scope of growth for the region. Cooperation of professionals like Chartered Accountants is important in educating the assesses for proper tax compliance.
