The accused road robbers had bashed up a Tata Ace Zip driver and looted him on Amravati Road. The accused had also tried the same act against a newspaper vehicle. The victimized Tata Ace Zip vehicle driver Manoj Ramprakash Patel (28) of Surendragadh, Seminary Hills, was proceeding towards Dhamna, 22 km away from city on Nagpur-Amravati National Highway 6 around 1 am of Sunday. As Manoj was nearing the destination, a speeding matador whizzed past his vehicle near Reliance Petrol Pump. After a while at a short distance, the matador driver stopped his vehicle and also signaled Manoj to stop his Tata Ace Zip. As soon as Manoj halted his vehicle, four more miscreants, riding on two motorcycles, arrived at the spot.
The five ruffians attacked Manoj with iron bars, kicks and fists and later snatched cash of Rs 1400 and a Samsung mobile phone worth Rs 7000 from him.
