Irate passengers’ gherao Station Master
Nagpur: Come summer season and summer vacations, citizens of the city escape to other cooler places or to visit their native places. Railways play a very vital role in transporting the passengers. The railway administration also starts some temporary special trains in order to clear the heavy rush.
However, all the good intentions of the Railways fell flat when the Summer Special Train, Pune-Nagpur Special Express arrived at Nagpur Railway Station nearly eight and a half hours late.
This delay in arrival to Nagpur Station caused discomfort to the passengers especially those who had booked or reserved on-ward reservations from Nagpur Station. Many passengers who had booked / reserved on-ward tickets to other destinations got irate and reached the Station Master and complained to him that it was because of the delay in arrival by Pune-Nagpur Special Express that they had to miss their connecting trains.
The passengers demanded refund of their ticket or proper reserved seats in other trains. The officials had informed the passengers that e-tickets cannot be refunded or cancelled. But the irate passengers gheraod the Station Master and had started shouting slogans. They claimed that it was not their fault that they missed the train and that it was the fault of the railways that they had missed their on-ward journey.
When the Station Master could not handle the crowd, he called the cops of the Railway Protection Force who pacified the crowd. Then the Station Master organized that the passengers are accommodated on other trains to their respective destinations.
