After months of delay with regard to the Heritage Locomotive being unveiled, the day finally arrives when Mr. Subodh Jain, general manager, Central Railway (CR) would dedicate the Heritage Locomotive Engine by 7.30 pm .The Steam Engine is already placed for display at the Nagpur Railway Station.
According to our reports, this Steam Locomotive engine was made in 1954 by Nasmyth Wilson & Co Ltd, England, and commissioned into service in May 1955 on the Pulgaon – Arvi section of Nagpur Section. This Steam Locomotive represents our past and unveiling this would make our younger generation take notice of the legacy, as said Mr. AK Singh, PRO, CR headquarters, Mumbai.
