On the occasion of 20th anniversary of Sunil Diabetes Care and Research Centre Pvt. Ltd (DCRC) in collaboration with Diabetes Care Foundation of India (DCFI) Nagpur is organizing a mega Diabetes Awareness cum Screening Program Hello Diabetes – “Madhumeh Ki Paathshala” for People with diabetes, their relatives and masses on August 17, 2014 at Vasantrao Deshpande Hall, Civil Lines, Nagpur. There will be also a Diet Exhibition between 09.30 AM to 3.30 PM.
The programme will be inaugurated by eminent dignitaries from various sections of the society, Guardian Minister Dr.Nitin Raut, Avinash Pandey from MPH Mayor of Nagpur city Anil Sole, NMC Commissioner Dr Shyam Wardhane, Commissioner of Police K.K.Pathak, Vice Chanceller (DMMC) Dr. Dilip Gode, Girish Gandhi, Kanchan Nitin Gadkari, Dr.Ashok Adhao and Type 1 Diabetes Children will be inaugurating the Diet Exibition.
An informative Diabetes Education program through slide shows, workshop, role-plays, is going to be presented by Dr. Sunil Gupta, Director DCRC, Dr. Ajay Ambade, Retina Surgeon, Dr. Sudhir Bhave, Psychiatrist, Dr. Sarita Ugemughe, Kavita Gupta, Dietitian, Vinita Mehta along with their team of Dieticians and Diabetes Educators. The sessions are going to be held in Marathi & Hindi languages.
Various topics which are important in day to day management of a Diabetic person will be the highlights of the program. Topics like, What is diabetes, its causes & symptoms, Importance of Diet, Exercise, Complications of Diabetes in Kidney, Eyes, Heart, what is Low sugar attack, how to manage our blood glucose at home Prevention of Diabetes, Home blood Glucose Monitoring, Travel Day Guidelines, foot care , What is Insulin pump, Is there a hope for cure of Diabetes in future , common Myths about Diabetes etc will be covered along with the open question answer session, where in people with diabetes & other delegates can clarify their doubts.
A unique program Citizens forum titled “Meethi Batein with Sunil” will be conducted by Dr. Sunil Gupta. In this session some of the key people with diabetes and some of the unseen heroes, who have successfully achieved the victory over diabetes will be sharing their lifetime experiences.
Diabetes Identity Card, BMD test, Free blood glucose check-up, Diet exhibition will be done at the venue for Diabetic People on first come first basis from 9am. Entry for the programme is free.
