HC asks Marathas not to agitate till matter is in court

MUMBAI: After the State government presented progress report on Maratha reservation also informed that a report from Backwards Commission was expected by 15 November, the Bombay High Court on Tuesday adjourned all petitions on the issue and scheduled the next hearing on 10 September 2018. The court also advised the Maratha community to have patience and not to agitate on the issue.

The State government presented its progress report on the agitation launched by Maratha community and the measures taken by the State to provide reservation to them. The High Court expressed concern over the violent agitation and the suicides committed by a few youth during the agitation. The court asked the community not to agitate till the matter was resolved in the court.
