Nagpur: Guards Regimental Centre, Kamptee organised “Veteran Day” and “Veer Nari Mela” on 14 Jan 18 on the eve of Army Day on behalf of Kamptee Military Station. The function was organised at Guards Regimental Centre, Kamptee under the aegis of Station Headquarters, Kamptee. It was attended by a total of 35 Veer Naris, 65 Ex-servicemen/ Next of Kin alongwith97 dependents from 10 districts of Vidharbha Region.

The function was aimed at generating awareness amongst Veer Naris and Ex-servicemen about their rights/ entitlements which are due to them from various State / Central Government Agencies as also to attend to their grievances and to rehabilitate them in a militarily befitting manner. Brig DV Singh, Commandant Guards Regimental Centre in his opening address spoke on various benefits applicable to veer naris, ESM and their dependents. Later, Lt Col Lakhvir Singh, Chief Records Officer, Brigade of The Guards in his speech apprised the Veer Naris and Veterans about various welfare schemes, educational facilities for their dependents and latest policies pertaining to pension.

Veer Naris were felicitated by Indu Singh, Dir FWO, Guards Regimental Centre by presenting them with gifts. In additiona band display, medical camp, Pension grievance cell and canteen facilities were organised under the overall aegis of Guards Regimental Centre. The event was highly appreciated by the attendees.
