Nagpur: A group of miscreants fired two bullets on a youth with the intention of killing him and also threatened to eliminate his family. The brazen incident occurred on Wednesday under Kalamna Police Station jurisdiction. The daylight attack has left the area residents panicky. No arrests have been made in this connection, yet.
According to police, the group of assailants has been identified as Purushottam Hazare, Yashwant Hazare, suraj Balbuddhe, Vinod Wagh, Golu, Tembhu alias Pramod Tamane, Nandu, Bablu, and Hemant Yadav. The accused allegedly attacked Jaggya alias Jagdish Wasudev Lanjewar (27), a resident of Talipura, Bhavani Road at about 6 pm on Wednesday.
The attackers on motorcycles arrived at the spot where Jaggya’s office is located. The miscreants fired two bullets on Jaggya with the clear intention of killing him. The assailants then attacked Jaggya’s family and threatened to kill them, too. However, the reason behind the audacious attack could not be ascertained.

The firing of bullets created tension and the nearby residents were left shocked and panicky. Kalamna police were informed about the incident. On the basis of a complaint lodged by Jaggya, cops have registered an offence under Sections 307, 143, 147, 148, 149, 504, and 506 of the IPC read with Sub Sections 3+25, 4+25, and 135 of the Arms Act. A hunt to nab the attackers has been launched.
