Grand Dr Ambedkar Memorial to be built in place of Indu Mill soon, says CM Fadnavis

Maharashtra Governor C Vidyasagar Rao and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday paid to Bharat Ratna Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar on his 58th Mahaparinirvan Day today. The Governor and Chief Minister visited Chaityabhumi  at Dadar and garlanded the statue of Dr Ambedkar and paid homage to him.

On the occasion, State Police presented a guard of honour and a helicopter showered flowers on Chaitya Stupa.

Speaking on the occasion, Fadnavis said, “Dr Ambedkar, through Indian Constitution, gave a message of equality and brotherhood. Dr Ambedkar created a modern India through the Constitution,” said the Chief Minister while paying homage.

Fadnavis further said, “The Union Textile Ministry has approved the proposal to build a Dr Ambedkar Memorial in the place of Indu Mill. The State and Central Government, in view of approval, will complete the legal formalities and a beautiful and grand memorial will be erected as soon as possible,” announced Fadnavis.

In Nagpur, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) took out a candle march from Deekshabhoomi to Matey Square. The candles march was participated by hundreds of school students and citizens. At Matey Square, the participants of candle march paid their homage to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar by garlanding his statue.
