Nagpur: “Literature, culture and art fields make a person ideologically rich in all spheres of life. Those individuals and institutes working in these fields will be assisted by State Government,” said Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis while inaugurating a two-day State-level Marathi Sahitya Sammelan here on Saturday. The Sammelan is being organized jointly by Padmagandha Pratishthan and Sahitya Vihar, Nagpur.
President of Sammelan Dr V S Jog, Rajya Sabha Member Ajay Sancheti, retired Justice V S Shirpurkar of Supreme Court, President of Padmagandha Pratishthan Shibhangi Bhadbhade, President of Sahitya Vihar Asha Pande, Organising Committee Chairman Prof Bhaurao Birewar, Pankaj Chande, Dr Pradnya Apte and former Vice Chancellor S T Deshmukh were seated on dais.
The Chief Minister further said that the reading habits are taking the route towards information instead of knowledge because of rampant use of Internet. Values could not sustained unless knowledge-based society is created. Importance of literature should be respected for this. The Sahitya Sammelans are held in different parts of State. The work of Padmagandha Pratishthan is appreciable. Such institutes need support and the Government will see it that assistance is provided to it, stated Fadnavis.

Dr Datta Harkare rendered Shardastavan. Prof Bhaurao Birewar and Shubhangi Bhadbhade also delivered speeches. Vijaya Brahmankar proposed a vote of thanks.
