Govt to set up creches for working women

Nagpur: On the last day of the Maharashtra Assembly many opposition MLAs raised the issue of babies and children of working women being ill treated in private Creche or day care centers where they are kept when mothers go to work.

MOS of Home Ranjit Patil replied that entrepreneurs will not be able to open creches just under the Shop Act anymore. District administration has been instructed t keep a strict eye on Creches in their area.

The Minister also said that there is a move that govt should provide day care facilities for women working in industrial sectors of the state. There is also a proposal to draft rules for play schools, primary schools etc.

Women and Child welfare Minister Pankaja Munde said that installing CCTV in all such establishments would be made compulsory. Employees working there will also receive training to look after helpless inmates like babies and old people etc. ( in old age homes).
