google-doodleNagpur: As the Indian cricket fans await the beginning of the country’s journey in the ICC World Twenty20 today, Google in its own way has marked the day for the fans. The company today has dedicated its Doodle to the India-New Zealand T20 match, which will be held at Nagpur Stadium.

The Doodle shows two cricket bats, coloured in both the participant countries’ team jerseys atop a Google banner. The colourful Doodle reflects India’s great interest in the sport and the 20-overs tournament matches.

Today’s match will be the first for both the countries and also in the main set of matches in this year’s World T20 tournament. A total of 10 teams have qualified for the main set in the 20-overs format World Cup.

This year’s tournament is sixth in the edition and for the first time India is hosting it. India had won the first World Cup title which was held in the year 2007. The tournament this year will conclude at Eden Gardens stadium in Kolkata.

The ICC World T20 is particularly interesting this year for India because if it wins the tournament it will be the only country to have won the title twice, and also the first to win it at home.
