GNI Students apprised of ardent learning at NLCC

Nagpur Today: Computer Science and Engineering Department of Guru Nanak Institute Inaugurated a National Level Coding Contest in Association with IIT Delhi in the college premises. The event was a two-day affair where students were given a brief idea about android web development.

The attendees were all welcomed with the application of tilak on their foreheads. The event started with the lightening of the traditional lamp by honorable dignitaries. Guest of Honor Dr. D. K. Agrawal, Director of BCUD, RTMNU, shared his opinion on the future aspects and plans for the betterment of the university and placement of students in technical as well as non-technical fields.

Eminent personalities, in the function also included Bande Nawaz Bagwan, Resource person of IIT Delhi, CMD Sardar Navneet Singh Tuli, MD Tanpreet Kaur Tuli, Principal GNIT Dr Narendra Kanhe and Dr. N.V Deshpande Principal GNIET, who highly appreciated the organizing team for their efforts and dedication.

Students from various colleges participated in the workshop followed by the contest. Response from the Android development section was more as compared to the Web development. The session lasted for two days, August 25, 2015 and August 26, 2015.

Talking Exclusively with Nagpur Today, many students expressed their views regarding contest.

Ashwin Saoji from Raisoni college of Engineering said that it was a good interactive session. They gained knowledge about HTML5 and website development.

Shivani Jain said that it is a good platform to learn these technologies for us students who do not belong to the IT section but are interested to learn.

Vikrant Upadhyay from GNIET said that we were given detailed information about the origin of Android and it was very useful for understanding the basics.

Aishwarya Tathe from YCCE said that it is an opportunity for us in Nagpur to compete at a national level and that too under a brand like IIT Delhi.

Umesh Khawle from Ram Meghe College of Engineering said that it is like learning with fun. The trainers are very helpful and nice. Even the inaugural function was good.

Ashmita Mende said that it was an interactive and user friendly session and it also produced a zeal for students to become adept in android platform.

The Convener of the event was Prof Kalpana Malpe H.O.D, Cse Department. Students and faculty members from various institutes attended the function in large number. The event was anchored by Prof Urmi Chakravorty Mittra. Prof Vijaya Kamble (Cordinator of NLCC) proposed the vote of thanks.
