Tension spread at Sawali in Kuhi police station area after a young girl drove her car at reckless speed and knocked down a bike causing death of a 4-year-old boy and injured three others including a minor girl. Police has also arrested her two friends who were accompanying her in the car.
Eye-witnesses alleged that all were drunk and were driving in full speed. All three belongs to a well-to-do family.
Police informed that four people were travelling on bike including two minors- Rakhi Salve, 3, and Manish Nikhate,4-year-old.
Nikhate died on the spot while Rakhi, Dayanand Vasure and bike rider Jitendra Hazare, are undergoing treatment at nearby private hospital.
Hazare had picked up the minors from their Vidyaniketan Convent, Kuhi, and was heading to Varambha when the speeding car knocked them.
Till late night, police did not confirm whether the girl driving the car was drunk or not. Police claimed that till late night, they are
interrogating the youths and the girl as well.
