Persistent posters in support of Sanjay Joshi disturb Delhi BJP High Command

Sanjay Joshi
Nagpur.

Everyone knows that Sanjay Joshi, of Nagpur, is a devoted, disciplined and dedicated RSS man supposedly very close to Bhagwat and other top echelons of the Sangh. He has a ‘fan following’ in Modi’s cabinet as well.

It was Sanjay Joshi who was deputed to BJP and sent to Gujarat many years ago to set right the crumbling edifice of the party there. He succeeded beyond doubt and paid a price for it. In 2005, CM of Gujarat then, Modi saw to it that he  was ‘expelled’ from the party and sent packing from the state.

Joshi was later proved innocent of all charges and scandals attributed to him, but he remained low key. Now with the amazing resurgence of BJP all over the country and RSS rightfully claiming some credit for it, many in both BJP and RSS want Joshi to be restored to his party position.

Posters on Saturday sprung up outside the BJP headquarters and residences of party president  Shah and L k Advani here, seeking the return of Sanjay Joshi, Narendra Modi’s bete noire and former general secretary, to the party-fold.

The posters with pictures of Modi, Shah and Joshi took a dig at the Modi government’s slogan of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas”, and asked why Joshi was not being taken along.

The poster states that BJP workers’ ‘Mann ki baat’ be heard and “Sanjay Joshi’s ‘Ghar Wapsi’ be initiated”.

It also says, “With all, justice for all. In this lies BJP’s development”.

The posters, that appeared outside the BJP headquarters on Ashoka Road, and besides the houses of BJP President Amit Shah on Akbar Road and veteran party leader L K Advani on Prithviraj Road, were later removed.

No BJP leader was willing to comment on the issue openly but as they say actions speak louder than words.

News has come that power and water connections have been disconnected from the flat in which Joshi has been residing in Delhi.

Since a year almost, he was occupying the flat given to Tikamgadh BJP MP Dr. Virendra Kumar. Six times MP Dr Kumar was issued two flats on North avenue of which Sanjay Joshi was living in one. Recently Dr. Virendra Kumar was moved to a bungalow on 22, Mahadev Road and pressure was brought on him to vacate the flats he had. According to protocol in fact this senior MP is allowed to keep one flat for his VIP guests. Even the UPA government had never objected to RSS man Joshi occupying this flat.

Posters were first put up on April 6, on Joshi’s birthday to wish him. Now posters have come up in his support with photographs and names of his supporters.  A disturbed BJP “high command”  has swung into action. Posters have been  removed; party men threatened with dire action and now for good measure the flat where Joshi lives has no water and electricity. MOS Naik, whose name figured, had to remove his Secretary for the ‘misdeed’,
