Gang of armed goons unleash terror in Imambada

Nagpur: A gang of armed goons, including three juveniles, unleashed terror by brandishing swords, ransaching property and threatening to kill a man in Imambada police area here on Thursday afternoon. Two of the accused have reportedly been arrested in this connection.

According to police, the accused, Nilesh alias Nana Vinod Meshram (24), Karan Kailas Shambharkar (20), both residents of Rambagh, Bhola and three juvenile boys aged 16-17, created terror in the area by brandishing swords. The accused first stormed the house of a couple Nilesh Kamble and Pratibha Kamble. Later they damaged two two-wheelers (MH-31/DQ 7893 and MH-49/AZ 0304).

The rampaging goons then entered into the house of Naresh Tansaram Walde (49), resident of House No. 640, Jattarodi No. 3, Indira Nagar, and thrashed him. The goons threatened to kill Naresh but he escaped from the rear door of his house. The gang continued terror for sometime and then fled the spot.

Imambada API Kadam, based on a complaint lodged by Naresh Walde, booked the accused gang under Sections 323, 143, 144, 147, 148, 149, 452, 504, 506(B) of the IPC read with Section 4/25 of Arms Act and Section 135 of Maharashtra Police Act. Cops reportedly arrested two of the accused Nilesh Meshram and Karan Shambharkar. Further probe is underway.
