Nagpur: Union Minister of Road and Transport Nitin Gadkari, on Saturday inaugurated oxygen plant at Seven Star Hospital in Nagpur.
Speaking on the occasion, Gadkari said, “We all faced the Covid-19 pandemic together and also defeated the virus. In this hard time, several people lost their lives due to lack of oxygen. To prevent such kind of tragedy, we all decided to set up this oxygen plant. Many lives were saved during the pandemic by bring oxygen from different places. At the same time, private hospitals came forward with the sense of social responsibility and rendered necessary help to the people,” the Union Minister said in appreciation.

Other dignitaries present on the occasion include Madhav Labhe, Director of the Hospital Dr Rahate, MLA Krishna Khopde and others.
Gadkari further said that oxygen cylinders were supplied to other places in Vidarbha as well as Madhya Pradesh. 500 ventilators and other necessary tools were also despatched free of cost. Ventilators were made available even to private hospitals to save lives of patients. The oxygen plant at Seven Star Hospital has been set up through CSR funds. At present, Nagpur has 6000 bed capacity and efforts are being made to increase the capacity to 12,000 beds, Gadkari announced.
